Today’s Japan earthquake has resulted in a California tsunami warning and advisory, from Northern California to Southern California beaches. The California tsunami alert differs across the state within the hour, but the preparedness of local response officials remains much the same. 
“Current intelligence indicates a 3-foot surge may impact the coastline of Los Angeles County,” Los Angeles County fire Capt. Sam Padilla said in a news statement issued today.
Padilla is telling residents to be prepared for the upcoming hours. “The impact of this event has the potential of lasting 10-12 hours, beginning at 8 a.m.”...
